ولدت أسلي بيركر في إزمير بتركيا عام 1975.
وتخرجت من جامعة دوكوز إيلول بشهادة في الأدب والثقافة الأمريكية.
بعد التعليم الجامعي ، عملت في مجلة أسبوعية، وكصحفي مستقل وصحفي في مدينة نيويورك.
بعد عودتها إلى اسطنبول في عام 2010 ، عملت كاتبة عمود في الصحف اليومية التركية بما في ذلك ميليت ، كمدونة وكاتبة عمود في العديد من المنشورات على الإنترنت ، وهي حاليًا رئيسة تحرير دار النشر التركية Beyaz Baykus Yayinlari.

رواية طعام معاناة حب للكاتبه والروائية الكويتين أسلي بيركيز، تقص الرواية حكايات مختلفة لثلاثة أبطال استثنائيين اختارتهم أسلي بيركير للتعبير عن إرادة الحياة ولكن بطرق مختلفة أيضاً.في ثلاثة بلدان مختلفة، وفي الوقت نفسه تقريباً، تتعرض ثلاث أسر لحوادث مأساوية تقلب حياة كل منها رأساً على عقب. رواية تخبرنا أنه في خضم تلك المعاناة يكتشف كل منهم حقائق كانت غائبة عنه عرفت ليلا بوجود خطب ما حالما التفتت إلى اليمين، تماماً كما تنعل كل صباح عندما تخرج من غرفتها، ويقفل بابها عند مغادرته إلى العمل لكي لا تعبث فيها زوجته، إلا أنه لم يلاحظ قط أنه يزيح دائما السجادة الممدودة أمام بابه قليلاً إلى اليسار. ربما لأن ليلا كانت تعيدها إلى مكانها كل صباح بطرف قبقابها بعد رحيله. في الينوات الأخيرة من زواجهما، الذي نجحا فب الحفاظ عليه لأكثر من ثلاثين عاما، فهما أن أذكي تدبير اخذاه هو فصل غرفتي نومهما. هكذا وجدا طريقة للعيش من دون أن يتعدى أحدهما على حياة الآخر في المنزل نفسه. الشيئ الوحيد الذي يوحى أنهما كانا عاشقين في الماضي هو القبلة الأنيقة التي يطبعها آرني على شفتي ليلا كل مساء عند عودته إلى المنزل. في الدقائق التالية، كانايجلسان عادة على مقعدين موضوعين أمام الطاولة وسط المطبخ، ويتناولان الوجبة الشهية التي أعدتها ليليا، وهما يشاهدان نشرة الأخبار التي يذيعها جيم ليرير على القناة الـ13.
