روائية وإعلامية وكاتبة عراقية تقيم في فرنسا منذ عقود، تمارس الصحافة والترجمة.
درست الصحافة والإعلام وعملت كإعلامية في وسائل الإعلام المرئية والمسموعة قبل أن تنتقل إلى فرنسـا عام 1979 لنيــل درجة الدكتوراة من باريس، ولا تزال تعيش هناك حتى الآن، وتعمل كمراسلة صحفية لجريدتين ناطقتين باللغة العربيـة.
وفي عام 2004 قامت بعمل وثائقي عن نزيهة الدليمي -أول امرأة تستلم منصب الوزارة في العالم العربي.
كما نُشِــر لها العديد من الأعمال الأدبية: لورنا، سنواتها مع جواد سليم - 1998 كلمات عراقية - 2003 سواقي القلوب - 2005 الحفيدة الأمريكية - 2008 طشاري - 2013 و ترشحت مرتين لجائزة البوكر العربية (القائمة القصيرة) للروايتين "الحفيدة الأمريكية" و "طشاري".
