يمكن الملاحظة المهمة الوحيدة التي ربما تجدها في هذا الكتاب الخفيف في قراءته ، الثقيل في إسقاطاته ، هو وقوع الكاتب في نفس الثيمات التي بدأها في أول حكاية في الكتاب و عدم استطاعته التخلص منها حتى نهاية الكتاب ، هذا رغم فصل الحكايات بفصول تختلف كل واحدة فيها عن الأخرى. ربما ثيمات ( غلاء الأسعار - اللحوم - المواليد - الزحام - النساء البدينات ) كانت أثرها أكثر عمقًا في الحياة المصرية و في حياة الكاتب حتى تتسرب و تتغلغل إلى كل حكاياه بهذا الشكل الذي ربما تجد نفسك مرة واحدة - رغم الضحك المستمر - تصيح "ألا توجد ثيمات أخرى ؟!" ، هل اقتصرت حياة المصريين كل هذه الفترة في الجمع بين متناقضين و هما القيود الإقتصادية و كثرة عدد المواليد و البدانة أيضًا ؟ ، هذه الإرتباطات المعقدة قد يكون تفسيرها فلسفيًا يحتاج إلى بعض الكتب و بعض الملابس الرسمية و بعض الكاميرات التليفزيونية ، بينما تفسيرها حقيقة لا يحتاج إلا إلى محمد عفيفي و "قفشة" ، ثم ضحكة صارخة ، حقيقية نابعة من القلب.
مصر قديما من وجهة نظر كاتب ساخر و الذي يعرض مشاكل العصر من زحام وغلاء الأسعار و سوء الأخلاق
أسلوبه ساخر يجعلك تضحك دون مقدمات.
