يضم هذا الكتاب خمسين مقالةً إيمانيةً وتربويةً، تعالج قضايا من واقع الحياة، وتكشف بعض ما يصرف القلوب عن ربها، ويقطعها عن غاياتها، ويحول بينها وبين الاستقامة والثبات.
وقد سعى المؤلف إلى عرض هذه المعاني بأسلوب يجمع بين التأمل والوعظ، وبين الفكرة والتربية، بعيدًا عن التعقيد والتكلف، قريبًا من الفهم والتدبر؛ ليكون الكتاب معينًا للقارئ على محاسبة نفسه، وإصلاح قلبه، والنظر في مسالكه وأحواله.
فإن كان القلب هو موضع نظر الرب سبحانه، فإن أعظم الخسارة أن تُسرق منه وجهته، وأعظم الربح أن يبقى متعلقًا بالله، مقبلًا عليه، ثابتًا على طريقه.
