ها هي تدفعُ باب المقهى برجلها. تخترقُ الدّخانَ كثور يقتحم مذبحَ الآلهة مكسُوًّا بالأبْخرةِ والطّيب. هواء المكان تكثّفَ فجأةً على هيئة امرأةٍ مُضيئةٍ غير ملتفتة إلى ظلال العيون المتلصّصة، وغير آبهةٍ باحتشام الدُّيوك في المكان الصّاخب والرّوائح النّتنة التي تفوح من ثنايا ريشها.
رداؤها الخمريّ يُعانق جسدها، يخنقه بقدر ما يُفسح له. على خدّها شامةٌ خاطفة. على صدرها شبه المكشوف وشمٌ كتابيٌّ تصعب قراءته في ضباب الأراجيل والسجائر، وشمٌ يثيرُ الفضول والشّهوة معًا.
حافية القدمين.

ثمة من لا يعرف ما معنى أن تعيش في الشرق الأوسط؛ أن تعيش داخل جُحرٍ معتم، حيث لا كهرباء ولا وقود ولا ماء شربٍ نظيفٍ توفره لك حنفية بيتٍ، وحيث لا يمكنك الاستسلام للنوم. إن أردت أن تستسلم، فللموت وحده. أما الحلم، إن حلمت، عليك أن تكون متيقّظًا.
أما الجُرذانُ، فلا تنام...
