من الصعب تحديد ماهية المعاني التي يتضمها هذا الكتاب المتواضع
فكل قصيدة كانت تعكس شيء من الواقع الذي يعيشه الكاتب ، تارة تراه يصور جسد المعشوقة ضاربا بالاعرف عرض الحائط وتارة تراه ممتعض المتصريفين في بلاده والحقبة الزمنية التي عاش بها بما فيها من صرعات وزلازل وكوارث وحروب والزاوية المليئة بالآلام التي خصها القدر بأن تكون مسقط رأسه ومنبع ذاكرته ..وعند كل منعطف تجده قص شيء قليل مما يجول في روحه أو مما تجول روحه فيه ،وقت السفر الذي تحول به الكاتب من الممتعض من الوضع الاقتصادي والاجتماعي في بلاده إلى العاشق الذي بكى قبيل الرحيل ، أو عندما لاكته الطرقات متشردا على حافة الطرقات في متاهات الغربة ، الا انني اجد ان طابع العشق و التمتع في تصوير صبابته هو الطابع السائد في أغلب اللوحات التي رسمها في الديوان
