(دانا) الشقية البائسة ذات المشاعر المرهفة التي أجبرتها الظروف على الزواج من أحد زعماء عصابات المافيا في أمريكا اللاتينية بعد تهديده لوالدها بالقتل والتي تصغره بسنوات، تتعرف يوماً ما على الضابط الشريف الوسيم (أدريانو) ذو الدراجة البخارية المميزة وتجد فيه الحب الذي طال انتظاره ولكن عقبتهما الوحيدة والتي ليست بهينة كانت زوجها الدون (ماكسيمو) والذي يتوعدهما ويبالغ في تعنته (لأدريانو) ويعذبه عذاباً شديداً فلا تجد من (دانا) سوى دموع مكبوتة عبر السنين لابد أن تُذرف في النهاية على حب بالنسبة لها هو الأمل والحياة.
