ان جميع استعمالات الفعل (سبح) ومشتقاته تعود الى معنى واحد ملحوظ فيها كلها الا وهو التعظيم. فسبح بمعنى عظم، وسبحان الله اي سبحت الله تسبيحا أي عظمت الله تعظيما. وكل ما جاء من معانٍ وصور واستعمالات فهي من اشكال التسبيح ومصاديقه لا انها معناه.
واما المعنى المحكم لتسبيح الجمادات فهو تسبيحها لله بلسان الحال لا المقال، أي تعظيمها لله بما فيها من احوال دالة على عظمته فهي تعظم الله تعالى بأحوالها وما فيها من بديع صنعه وقدرته واقتداره وقهره. والحالات التي تدل على تكليف وطاعة هو اختصاص في علاقة الامر بها وبغيرها وتعلقه بفعلها لا ان فعلها ذلك خاص وحالها تغير. فلا يبقى حاجة لحمل النصوص على ما يخالف الوجدان من ان للجمادات ادراكا وشعورا وقوالا. فان هذا الامر لا يصدقه الوجدان، والوجدانية شرط من شروط المعرفة الشرعية، فيحكم النص الظاهر في مثل ذلك بما تقدم من بيان.
