رسالة أوردَها المصنِّفُ كاملةً في أحد أجزاء كتاب تسلية القلوب الحزينة؛ وقد اعتمدنا في تحقيقنَا النسخة الخطيَّةِ منه كنسخة أولى ؛ ورمزنًا لها بـ (ت) ، وأوردها تلميذُهُ الشَّيخُ عبدُ الصَّاحِبِ الدُّوانِيُّ في الجزء الأَوَّلِ مِنَ الفوائدِ، وله عليها تعليقات أدرجناها في الهامش؛ وهيَ النُّسخةُ الثَّانِيةِ المعتمد عليها ؛ ورمزنَا لَهَا (ف) ، وذكرَهَا ابنه في ترجمته الوجيزة لكن كتبت خطاً في المطبوع " النَّشرة والشعوط .
وهي في جواب سؤال للشيخ الجليل علي بن الجليل الحلي : " الخبر محتمل للصدق والكذب ، وكل محتمل للصدق الكذب لا يصلح أن يكونَ دليلاً بالإجماع ، والخبر لا يصلح أن يكون بالإجماع " .
وقد فرغ منها في يوم واحد هو يوم الثلاثاء ١٢ جمادى الأولى سنة ١٢٢٩هـ في أرض الكاظمين .
