الكتاب لايهتم فقط برسائل اخوان الصفا ولا تقديم علوم زمانها فقط ولكن الاهتمام الاكبر يدور حول إشكالية فلسفية وهى إشكالية تنوع الأجناس علي المستوى الأنطولوجي ، وإشكالية الاختلافات بين المذاهب الفلسفية والدينية على المستوى المعرفى والعداء الطائفى على المستوى السياسي ، وتقدم رسائل إخوان الصفا حلولا لهذه الإشكاليات الثلاث من خلال شمولية الأشياء ثم العلوم ثم الأمم ويعرض التيسيرفى ثلاثة أقسام : الشمول الأول مرجعية الأشياء إلى مصدر واحد والشمول الثانىالنسبة الحالية بين كل الأشياء ، والشمول الثالث ميل كل الأشياء إلى غرض واحد.
وعلي الرغم من أن كل علم محدد له رسالة بعينها إلا أن الإشكالية الفلسفية تتخلل الرسائل جميعها فلم ترتب المختارات بناء على ترتيب الموضوعات العلمية لكن ركزت على النصوص الفلسفية وتتبعت تطور الإشكالية ومراحل حلها ويقدم كل نص منها مصحوبا بتعليقات تذكر إطاره وتوضيح معناه وتفهم أغراضه .
