"لم يتبق إلاّ أنت.. أيها البحر. ووحدي فيك. أحيا بك ومعك بمركبي الصغير. لا نجمة في السماء.. تهديني، ولا بوصلة تحدد لي المسير. لم يتبق إلا أنت.. أيها البحر، ووجهك المتعب يتقاذفني بمده الناعم وجزره اللاهث. مد.. لاهث، جزر.. ناعم إلى ما لا نهاية وحدي فيك.. ومعك الآن.. أسألك، أين وصلت، أين أوصلتني، إلى محيطك المتجمد أم بحرك الميت، أم تراك ألبستني ثياب حداد بحرك الأسود!؟. وحدي فيك ومعك الآن أسألك.. "ما هي نقاط عبورك؟" حددها! هل هي سدود عالية أم مضائق ضيقة يستعصي على مركبي الصغير اجتيازها. (-هدير أمواج)-بمركبي هذا قهرت الضباب الغريب الذي لفّك وأحاطني، وبه كنت. عندما تحالفت مع أمواجك الصاخبة والرياح فكان.. دوارك المخيف الذي ابتلع كل سفنك الجبارة الحديثة ولم يقو على إرهاقي.. وابتلاعي. ثم به كنت عندما شاركت مطر السماء دموعي فأمطرنا معاً.. ملوحة أنقى وأقسى من تلك التي فيك. و.. طهرناك. والآن.. وحدي أنا معك أسألك.. أيها البحر الواسع الشاسع، أسألك دون عواصف ودون رياح، لا نوارس وطيور، وبلا سفن غريبة مبحرة، ودون أمطار، أسألك.. لترد عليّ.. وتجيب! أين أوصلتني فيك، وأين ومتى سأرسي مرساتي لأصل لبرّ الأمان!!؟". كما البحر؛ عميقة معاني تلك القصائد النثرية، تتهادى على صفحات النفس، موجعة حيناً، مواسية أحياناً، متشائمة طوراً، متفائلة أطواراً، ولكنها في كل أحوالها مندفعة خارج بركان الأحاسيس والمشاعر الإنسانية الصادقة.
