محمد لبيب البتنوني (و.؟ - ت. 1357 هـ = 1938م)، هو رحالة ومؤرخ مصري في عهد الخديوي عباس حلمي باشا الثاني. ومن أشهر أعماله الرحلة الحجازية.
حياته
ولد في بتانون (في محافظة المنوفية حالياً)، مصر. وتوفي في القاهرة عام 1357 هـ.

Book Description
كان «محمد لبيب البتنوني» متعدِّد الرحلات والجولات في أوروبا، لكنه لم يكن قد زار إسبانيا من قبل، حتى رمته المقادير عام ١٩٢٦م للتنقل سائحًا بين ربوعها، والوقوف مشدوهًا على معالمَ واقعةٍ في عوالمَ تتوازى فيها وتتقاطع إسبانيا الجديدة مع الأندلس الدارسة. وقد أرسل البتنوني إبَّان رحلته مجموعة من الرسائل الراصِدة الواصِفة إلى «الأهرام» المصريَّة، والتي نشرتها بدورها في سلسلة تحت عنوان «جولة في إسبانيا». وقد جمع البتنوني تلك الرسائل بين دفَّتي هذا الكتاب حتى يضع القارئ بمواجهة الصورة المتكاملة، صورة الأندلس في ماضيها وحاضرها، وصورة الحضارة التي كان صعودها عظيمًا، وسقوطها مريرًا. ويتميَّز أسلوب المؤلِّف بالابتعاد عن التحيُّز الصارخ للعاطفة الدينية أو القومية، وقد وشَّى عرضه الشائق بمجموعة من الصور الخاصَّة بتلك الآثار الجليلة التي خلَّفها العرب والمسلمون في الأندلس.
