ملخص: سلسلة ذكريات تبدأ جزءها الأول برسالة غامضة التفاصيل من أشخاص بأسماء آلهة يدَّعون أنهم من الكون السابق، ولا تتوقف كلماتهم عن التحذير بنهاية مأساوية لنا مشابهة لما حدث لهم في عهدهم القديم.
فتنقسم فصول الرواية إلى بيِّنات؛ تتناول مفهومهم الفلسفي للسادية أو الحرية أو السلطة نفسها، ويتحدثون بشكل فوقي ذو جلالة غير مختلفة عن سابقتها في بعض الكتب المقدسة.
وفصول أخرى تدعى براهين؛ تقص حكاية أغاثا التدمرية مبتدأة بمغادرة أبيها جولياد الحمصي أختَه جوليا دومنا فترة تسلم أبنائها الحكم، ومنتهية بتوقف عملية المحاكاة التي صاغها المتطوع الأول سيزيف بسبب كسره القواعد الصارمة، محاكاة ذات أحداث مهمة مخفية في هوامش السطور العريضة، تصف معالم مدينة تدمر المحطمة، وتحكي خوارزمية سقوطها المحزن كما أرادها سيزف ليشبع رغباته البشعة.
وفي الصفحات الأخيرة، تخبر شركة رزق (خيالية ولا تمت للواقع بصلة) بضع معلومات عن تاريخها المناضل في المعالجة النفسية كما تنص المقدمة.
