إن الهدف من هذا الكتاب هو توضيح محاولة إعادة الذاكرة من خلال هذه الصور الماضي حتى لا ينسى الجيل الذي لم يعيش في داخل تلك القرية دير سنيد
هذه القرية التي إنُتكِبت في عام ١٩٤٨ لا يمكن إلا أن تكون نموذجا خاصا وعاما لكل ملابسات القضية.هذه النكبة بعينها و خاصة ما هو مألوف والخروج قليلا عن البكاء لكي نركز على ما هو جوهري محاولين بذلك التصدي للتغيرات في معالم وشوارع وأحياء والمواقع ذاتها.
"دير" هي كلمة عربية تعني "دير" ، مما يشير إلى أنها كانت ذات يوم موقعًا لرهبنة رهبانية أو ربما كان عدد السكان المسيحيين يقيمون هناك في وقت ما. "السنيد" هو اسم قبيلة عربية في المنطقة وأيضا من التسمية أن النواة الأولى لهذه القرية كانت ديرًا فوق هذه البقعة من أراضي السهل الساحلي..
