ينطلق الكاتب من تجربة شخصية دامية خلال مجزرة السويداء، ليقدّم تحليلًا وجوديًا، نفسيًا، وفكريًا لآليات التطرف، مستعينًا بفرويد ويونغ ولوبون، وبمرجعيات علم الأعصاب وفلسفة المعرفة، ليفضح البنية المغلقة التي تُحوّل النص المقدّس إلى طوطم، والسؤال إلى تابو، والفرد إلى ظلٍّ في كهف الجماعة.
"خفافيش الظلام" هو دعوة صريحة لاستعادة مرونة الوعي، وكسر جدران الخوف، وتفكيك الأصنام الفكرية التي تعيق السؤال والرحمة والتعدد. إنه بيان ضد تسليع المقدس، وضد تحويل الاختلاف إلى عدو، والآخر إلى مشروع قتل مشروع.
