يُخدع الإنسان بكيفيات عديدة ومتنوعة، وفي جميع الحالات يكون خادعا ومخدوعا في آن واحد؛ فمن يخدعه الآخرون يكون في الحقيقة مخادِعا لنفسه، ومن يخدع الآخرين يظل في الجوهر مخدوعا من عقله. هذا ما ستلامسه مجموعتي القصصية جلها، وأبرز إشارة لذلك: قصة "توفيق الخداع" التي افتتحت بها عوالمي التسعة التي لم توحَ لي من الخيال أبدا، بل سحبتها بقوة من روح الواقع الفردي والاجتماعي، وأكثر من ذلك، فقصة " خدعت نفسي" هي اعتراف حقيقي من شخص حقيقي، لم أداعبها بقلمي، إلا فيما هو فني خالص، بحيث لم تشب جوهر القصة شائبة، وإنما عكس ذلك، تعمقت في بعدها السيكولوجي دون إغفال رسالتها الحقيقية الموجهة إلى القارئ.
