في هذا الكتاب نفتح بابًا على عالمٍ صغير في حجمه، عميق في حكمته، عالم حكايات إيسوب؛ تلك القصص التي وُلدت على ألسنة الحيوانات، لكنها خُطّت لتخاطب الإنسان في جوهره وعقله وسلوكه. فمنذ قرون بعيدة، استطاعت هذه الحكايات أن تعبر الأزمنة والثقافات، حاملةً قيماً أخلاقية وإنسانية لا يحدّها مكان ولا يغيّرها عصر.
لا تقدّم حكايات إيسوب المتعة وحدها، بل تمزج السرد البسيط بالحكمة العميقة، فتجعل من الحكاية القصيرة درسًا في الصدق، أو التنبيه، أو العدل، أو الحذر من الغرور والطمع. وهي بذلك تضع القارئ، صغيرًا كان أم كبيرًا، أمام مرآةٍ رمزية يرى فيها نفسه وسلوكه من خلال شخصيات تبدو مألوفة وبريئة، لكنها شديدة الدلالة.
إن هذا الكتاب دعوة إلى التأمل في الحياة عبر حكايات خالدة، تُقرأ للمتعة، وتُحفظ للعبرة، وتبقى شاهدة على قدرة الأدب البسيط في شكله، العميق في معناه، على تهذيب النفس وإيقاظ الوعي. فهنا في حكايات إيسوب، تتحوّل القصة إلى حكمة، وتغدو الحكمة رفيقة القارئ في دروب الحياة.
