ماذا في حصاد 2016؟ الإمعان في تخريب تراكم المجتمع المدني، ومحاولة إعادة الاحتجاج إلى مربع 1923، حيث لا قيادات كبيرة بحجم عبد الرحمن الباكر، ولا عبدالرحمن النعيمي ولا شيخ علي سلمان ولا مرجعيات دينية بحجم الشيخ عيسي قاسم، وما كانت هناك مطالب بحجم مطالب 14 فبراير، وما كانت هناك منظمات حقوقية ولا جمعيات سياسية. كان هناك شيء واحد، مكون اجتماعي منتهكة حقوقه، مسلوب من كل شيء، مهمش يُستخدم كسخرة. قرر هذا المكون أن يطالب بحقوقه، فأخذ يكتب العرائض والرسائل ويتظاهر في الساحات ويضغط على الامبراطورية الحامية للعائلة الحاكمة، لتقوم بإصلاحات جدية ذات مغزى. أصر هؤلاء الناس أن يطالبوا بكرامتهم، وتحدوا التنكيل والتخويف.
