فالصورة الحية أمامه كفيلة ان ترديه قتيلاً في الحال
حرك رأس لهث دون ان يعدو...

تحركت شفتيه لتترجم ما يهتف به عقله ببضع كلمات خافتة تخرج متلعثمة
- كا... كارولين !! كيف!
كيف لكِ أن تكوني حية !!
ارتفع ثغرها مع حاجبها الأيسر وتألقت عيناها بذلك الوهج الغريب وهي تهمس وكأنها تبوح له بسرٍ خطير بسخرية متسائلة
- ومن قال لك أني حية ؟!!
