يوم الجمعة سوق القماشين، عطلتهم الأسبوعية يوم الخميس بخلاف تجار الأسواق الأخرى الذين يرتاحون الجمعة.. عادة نقلها القماشون معهم من المجدل، حيث تعطل القاعات قبل صلاة ظهر الخميس وينفل العمال ما نسجوا عن المطاوي، يحاسبون على أجرة عرقهم، ويتهيأون لسوق المجدل صباح الجمعة، مصطحبين أولادهم ونساءهم، يتسوقون ويتفرجون مع جموع الناس الواردة الى السوق، من القرى القريبة والبعيدة.. وفي زمن الهجرة يتوارد تجار التجزئة والناس من المخيمات، والقرى، ومدن القطاع من رفح جنوباً إلى بيت حانون شمالاً.. خالي ترك القاعة لجدي والتحق بالدكان يساعد أبي، ويدخل معمعان عالم البيع والشراء، وبانتقاله إلى السوق توقفت أعمال الصباغة والبوش في الدار
