در مقدمه كتاب آمده است:
اينك با توجه به اهميت و جايگاه رفيع سنت از يكطرف، تقصير، بياعتنايي و بيتفاوتي عدۀ زيادي از مسلمانان در مورد آن از طرف ديگر خواستم تا رسالۀ كوچكي را زير عنوان «جايگاه رفيع سنت در دين اسلام و مسؤوليت مسلمان در برابر آن» خدمت برادران مسلمان تقديم نمايم تا باشد كه با مطالعۀ آن اهميت سنت را بصورت درست درك نموده، در تعميل احكام و دساتير نجاتبخش پيامبر گرامي اسلام صلی الله علیه و سلم اعتنا و توجه خاص خودرا مبذول نموده، با رجوع نمودن مجدد و صادقانه به طرف كتاب الله و سنت رسول الله صلی الله علیخ وسلم كه راز و رمز و اقعی و حدت و یك پارچگی مسلمانان است، عزت و شرف سلب شده و از دست رفتۀ خودرا دوباره به دست بیاوریم.
