رواية تحكي هروب مجموعة من السجناء المحتجزين في الشعبة الخامسة في بغداد والوقت أواخر عهد النظام عام 2003 ... كان ( جاسم ) الشخصية الرئيسية قد عاد من بريطانياً بناء على رجاء امه لمشاهدته قبل أن تموت في وقت تطلب منه صديقته الاسكتلندية ( جوليا ) عدم الذهاب خشية عليه من اعتقال سلطات النظام في العراق له بجريرة أخيه السياسي المعارض ... هروب جاسم ومحاولة تواريه عن الدوريات التي نصبت في الشوارع لالقاء القبض على الهاربين يقوده الى القفز عبر سياج المتحف التاريخي ودخوله عبر نافذة اعداد الشاي للموظفين ، حيث المتحف مغلق بسبب الحرب ، فيقضي الايام حتى سقوط النظام داخل المتحف ، ويروح طيلة الايام متخفيا يشاهد المعروضات حتى وقت الهجوم على المتحف ونهب محتوياته وسط طلبه من المهاجمين بعدم السرقة والعبث كون ما موجود هو ملكهم وملك البلد بأجمعه ، لكن صوته يذهب ادراج الخيبة . ويتم الاحتلال وتدمير البلاد .
