قلَّ ما كان يثير اهتمام الجم اتجاه بعض المسرحيين الى التنظير لأعمالهم وممارساتهم، وكأن الجمهور في حاجة الى من يفكك له طلاسم نصوص لا تروق إلا لنخبة منقطعة الصلة بواقع الناس.
ونظرا لصلتي الفكرية والعائلية بالراحل العلج كان يحدثني عن العاملين معه، وأتذكر مرَّة أنه قال لي عن الجم وبإعجاب "إن هذه الموهبة سيكون لها شأن في الحياة المسرحية ببلادنا،وأنه سيهتدي الى الاسلوب الذي يوافق مزاجه وخبراته التي اكتسبها معي"
بالفعل اخد الجم الوقت الكافي ليهتدي الى النمط الفني الذي سيميزه عن باقي المسرحيين، خاصة وان المسرح المغربي –هواية واحترافا عرف على مر السنين اتجاهات متباينة ومدارس مختلفة.
ما اتيح لي أن اشاهده من اعمال مسرحية لهذا الفنان مشخصنة فوق الخشبة او مبثوثة على الفضائيات يسمح لي أن ارصد حرص الجم على ان يكون عينا لاقطة للواقع الاجتماعي والسياسي بقوة ملاحظة وتذكر يحركه هاجس اساسي وهو ان يعي الناس هذا الواقع داخل الأسر. او في علاقة المواطن المغربي بالإدارة والدولة ورجالاتها من الكبار والصغار، يتخلل هذا الجهد فضح للأعراض المرضية داخل المجتمع، وخاصة مفاسده وعيوبه بمبالغات في توصيف ملامح الشخوص وبلمسة كاريكاتورية مما يثير آلية اللإضحاك.
