Book Description
وُلد "جوستاف فلوبير" فى باريس يوم 12 ديسمبر 1821. درس الحقوق فى باريس لكنه لم يستكمل دراسته لأنه لا يحب حياة المدن الوادعة المستقرة.
اُصيب بالصرع لكن أعراض المرض لم تكن واضحة و هذا ما سبب له معاناة كبيرة فى التعامل مع المحيطين به.
رغم مرضه إلا أنه نجح فى تكوين صداقات عميقة مع "فكتور هوجو" و "جول فيرن" و غيرهما من الأدباء المعاصرين له.
كان شغوفًا بالسفر و المغامرات و لذلك قام بجولات فى أوروبا بالاضافة إلى دول الشرق الأوسط.
رغم معرفته الدقيقة بالمجتمع و خبراته الكثيرة فى الكتابة إلا أنه كان يتسم بالدقة الشديدة حتى أنه يقضى أيام و أسابيع لكتابة صفحة واحدة. و فى النهاية نجح فى الوصول إلى أسلوب خاص به يمزج الواقع بالرومانسية.
أخيرًا يجب أن نعلم أنه واجه اتهامات كثيرة بسبب أفكاره و أرائه الاجتماعية. و كان أخطر الاتهامات هى إزدراء الأديان، لكنه نجح فى الافلات منها بفضل براعة محاميه.
