جورج رايموند ريتشارد مارتن (بالإنجليزية: George Raymond Richard Martin) هو روائي وكاتب قصص قصيرة من نوع الخيال العلمي والرعب والفنتازيا، وكاتب سيناريو ومنتج تلفزيوني، معروف لسلسلة روايات أغنية الجليد والنار التي حقّقت أفضل مبيعات حول العالم وقامت قناة HBO باقتباسها في مسلسلها الدرامي صراع العروش. كما يُعتبر مارتن منتجاً مُشاركاً للمسلسل ويكتب حلقةً من كلّ موسم عدا الموسم الخامس القادم الذي أعلن فيه مارتن عن عدم قيامه بكتابةِ أي حلقةٍ للتفرغ لإكمال الكتاب السادس من السلسلة الذي يحمل عنوان رياح الشمال. وقد وصفت مجلة التايم أن جورج هو تولكين الأمريكي. وقد وضعته المجلة في قائمتها في 2011 كأكثر الأشخاص نفوذاً وتأثيراً في العالم.

أصدرت منشوارات تكوين الطبعة العربية لـ رواية “تنين الجليد” للكاتب العالمى جورج. ر. مارتن صاحب رواية “أغنية الجليد والنار” التى تحولت إلى أشهر مسلسل عالمى “صراع العروش”.
تقول منشورات تكوين تعليقا على الرواية “فى هذه القصة لجورج ر. مارتن نرى بذور الأفكار التى طوَّرها لاحقًا فى العمل الضخم الذى قدَّمه بعد ذلك، هنا يقدِّم صاحب “أغنية الجليد والنار” قصة بسيطة ولكن حافلة بسحر وجمال كتاباته ولغته الشِّعرية.”
نشرت رواية “تنين الجليد” فى الأصل عام 1980 فى سلسلة كتب أنثولوجى دراجونز أوف لايت، كما أوضحت أليسيا أوستن، وتم تضمينها لاحقًا فى مجموعة جورج . ر . مارتن لعام 1987 “صور للأطفال”.
