"لم أكن غائبةً عندما جئت في ذلك اليوم، يا سيدي. كنت في عزلة أتجادل مع ضوء ظلك فيها، أحِسُّ بقاياك... لم أكن غائبة نسبتني إليك دروبي، دروبي إليك، دِمَنٌ وفِفازٌ. لم أعد أستطيع الوصول ومكاني غريب تتغرب حتى الفصول بين أيامه. خذ يدي من جديد. أعطني من جديد يدَيْك. لم أعد أستطيع الوصول. لنعد مرّة ثانية. لشوارع كنا تفيء إليها. نتمشى نرى الكون يرسو في بحيرة أنفاسنا والزمان يروح ويغدو في نوافذ مكسورة. نتمشى فوق آثارنا، في مرايا خطانا في معاجم للورق الميَتِ، لا وقع إلا خطانا. لِنَسِرْ مرّة ثانية في حدائق أيامنا العالية. أجرح الآن حلماً وأسأل: هل يجرح الحلم؟ لكن لم يكن في يدي ولا في جفوني ما يكذب حلمي. نمت في غبطة نمت منذورة لإلاهات حبي. أترى كان قلبك هذا الذي جرحته الآهات حبي، أم كان قلبي. كان في نيتي أن أبوح بما لا يباح ولكن كان إشعاعك انفجاراً لم أكن أتخيل بركانه. هكذا شَفّني هيامي، هكذا لم يعد في لسان قوة للكلام".
