كان الناس يسمعون صوت (هازار) الجميل فيتبعونه إلى حيث نادى. وفي طريق العودة اختار عشبة سامة قليلة السم. سحقها بحجر وسفها، ثم إنطلق للبيت. اختار عشبة لا تقتل، إنها تصيب الحنجرة بالجفاف الشديد. أكثر منها فجف حلقه تلك الليلة، ونزف دمًا، وانقطع أحد أحباله الصوتية. رغم الألم كان سعيدًا بما فعل.في اليوم التالي شاهدت أمه الدم على الفراش ولم تجده. لقد إنصرف إلى الحقل ولم يذهب إلى (أديم)، لم يخرج الناس إلى الساحة، كانوا ينتظرون صوت (هازار) ليناديهم، لكنهم لم يسمعوه.
