إسحق عظيموف أو إسحاق أسيموف أو إسحاق أزيموف (2 يناير 1920 - 6 أبريل 1992) (بالعبرية: אייזק אסימוב آيزك أسيموف) (بالروسية: Айзек Азимов) (بالإنكليزية: Isaac Asimov) مؤلف أمريكي روسي المولد وكيميائي حيوي في تخصصه الأصلي. كان أسيموف من أكثر الأدباء غزارة في الكتابة، إذ له أكثر من 500 كتاب، إضافة لحوالي 90 ألف رسالة وبطاقة. اشتهر بكتاباته في روايات الخيال العلمي، حيث لاقت رواياته نجاحا وانتشارا كبيرين. وقد تركت مؤلفاته أثرا كبيرا في سينما الخيال العلمي وحتى في علوم الرجل الآلي أو ما يسمى بالروبوتيك، عن طريق ما يعرف بالقوانين الثلاثة للروبوتات. كماا اشتهر بسلسلة الأساس التي فازت عام 1966 بجائزة هوغو لأحسن سلسلة خيال علمي لكلّ الأوقات.

لا يمكنهم إيذاء البشر بل عليهم طاعة أوامرهم وكذلك حماية أنفسهم، فقط ما لم يكن ذلك يخالف فالقاعدتين الأولى والثانية. بهذه القوانين الثلاثة للروبوتات تخوض البشرية ما قد تكون أعظم مغامراتها على الإطلاق، ألا وهي اختراع أول روبوت بوزيتروني. كتاب "أنا .. روبوت'' لإسحاق آزيموف يأخذ القارئ في مغامرة إلى مستقبل ليس بعيدا للغاية، حيث يجاهد الإنسان والآلة لإعادة تعريف الحياة والحب بل الوعي ذاته إذ إن العلماء الذين اخترعوا الروبوتات الأوائل لم يرضوا لمخترعاتهم بأن تظل مجرد مخلوقات مبرمجة تقوم بدور المساعد أو الصاحب أو العامل، وسريعا ما دب عدم الرضا في الروبوتات نفسها وقد أدركت ذكاءها وقوتها وخصائصها الإنسانية، والآن يجد البشر أنفسهم في مواجهة روبوتات تقرأ الخواطر وتعمل بالسياسة وأخرى أصابها مس من الجنون، بالإضافة إلى أجهزة مخابرات روبوتية عاتية ربما تحاول بالفعل السيطرة على العالم في الكفاح الكبير التالي للبقاء. كل من الإنسان والروبوت يسأل الأسئلة ذاتها: ما البشر؟ وهل اندثرت البشرية؟
