این كتاب در چهار باب ترتیب شده است: باب اول دربارهی اعتقاد اهل تشیع راجع به امامت و جایگاه آن و سپس نصوصی كه دلالت بر این معتقد دارند و در این باب به صحت و ضعف و قبول و ردّ این روایات طبق معیارهای طرفین اهل تسنن و تشیع نپرداخته. باب دوم به توضیح عقیدهی امامت در قرآن پرداخته و بیان داشته كه در قرآن هیچگونه دلیلی بر این معتقد وجود ندارد و موضعگیری اهل تشیع در مقابل این حقیقت را نیز به چالش كشانده است. سپس در باب سوم كه مهمترین باب این كتاب میباشد، دربارهی روایاتی كه اهل تشیع برای اثبات امامت علی به آنها استدلال میكنند تا ببینیم آیا این روایات به ثبوت میرسند یا خیر؟ و ابواب این كتاب را دربارة صحابه رضوانالله علیهم أجمعین و بیان فضائل و جایگاه صحابه در قرآن و سنت و اقوال ائمه شیعه و موضعگیری اهل تشیع در برابر این دلایل به پایان میرسانیم.
