وُلد عام 1915 م - شاعر سوري ، عُرف بلقب " سنديانة الشعر ". ووضع نشيد الجامعة العربية.
سيرته :
ولد في الدريكيش، محافظة طرطوس، في كانون الأول 1915 ونشأ في قرية (حبسو) التابعة للدريكيش.
تلقى تعليمه في (اللاييك) طرطوس، وفي كلية القديس يوسف (الآداب العربية المدرسية). وعمل في حقل التعليم (18) عاماً, فدرس اللغة العربية وآدابها في الدريكيش, وأصبح مديراً للثانوية الأرثوذوكسية في «السودا - طرطوس». وأصدر مجلة (النهضة بالاشتراك مع الدكتور وجيه محيي الدين عام 1938 في طرطوس). وعين في لجنة الشعر في المجلس الأعلى للآداب والفنون والعلوم الاجتماعية في دمشق.
انتقل عام 1936 من وزارة التعليم إلى وزارة الثقافة والارشاد القومي، فعمل في المراكز الثقافية وفي مديرية التأليف والنشر. وأحيل عام 1975 إلى التقاعد للشعر والبحث . بدأ النشر في الثلاثينات , ووضع نشيد الجامعة العربية عام 1948.
عضو جمعية الشعر، وترأس فرع اتحاد الكتاب بطرطوس لسنوات عديدة..
