محطات يسرد من خلالها المؤلف تاريخ الحزب الشيوعي العراقي، وقادته وكوادره الذين شكلوا محاور لكثير مما أورده في هذا الكتاب، كما يشير المؤلف إلى عام 1976 حيث ظهر صدام حسين على مسرح الأحداث رجل الدولة الأول علناً يعد أن بقي نائباً لأحمد حسن البكر في قيادة الحزب وما يسمى مجلس قيادة الثورة، حيث لف صدام حسين حفنة من البعثيين حوله وراح يعد العدة لفرض دكتاتورية من طراز جديد.
