الهَيْكَلِ المَفْقُودِ
أَدَّتْ عِدَّةُ عَوامِلَ إلى تَرْمِيمِ المَسْجِدِ الأَقْصَى، وَقَدْ شَمِلَتْ هَذِهِ العَوامِلُ مَا يَلِي:
تَرْمِيمَاتُ عامِ 1873م وقِبَابُ السُّلْطَانِ سُلَيْمَانَ العُثْمَانِيِّ: كَانَتْ هُنَاكَ حَاجَةٌ لِتَصْلِيحِ التَّرْمِيمَاتِ السَّابِقَةِ الَّتِي أُجْرِيَتْ فِي عَامِ 1873م، إِضَافَةً إلى القِبَابِ الَّتِي بَنَاهَا السُّلْطَانُ سُلَيْمَانُ العُثْمَانِيُّ.
أَضْرَارُ الحَرْبِ العَالَمِيَّةِ الأُولَى (1914-1918م): لَحِقَتْ بِالمَسْجِدِ أَضْرَارٌ جَرَّاءَ الحَرْبِ العَالَمِيَّةِ الأُولَى، مِمَّا اسْتَدْعَى إِجْرَاءَ إِصْلَاحَاتٍ.
الهِزَّةُ الأَرْضِيَّةُ عامَ 1927م: دَمَّرَتِ الهِزَّةُ الأَرْضِيَّةُ الَّتِي وَقَعَتْ فِي عَامِ 1927م عِدَّةَ أَجْزَاءٍ مِنْ مَسْجِدِ عُمَرَ بِأَضْرَارٍ جَمَّةٍ.
ضَرَرُ الرُّطُوبَةِ: أَدَّتْ رُطُوبَةُ الطَّابِقِ السُّفْلِيِّ مِنْ جِهَةِ كُرْسِيِّ القُبَّةِ الغَرْبِيَّةِ إلى إِتْلَافِ الفُسَيْفِسَاءِ.
مَجَارِي المَصَارِفِ عامَ 1937م: دَخَلَتْ مَجَارِي المَصَارِفِ فِي عَامِ 1937م، وَتَسَبَّبَتْ بِعِدَّةِ أَضْرَارٍ لِلْمَسْجِدِ الأَقْصَى، وَقَدْ تَمَّ إِنْهَاءُ العَمَلِ بِهَا فِي عَامِ 1947م.
