من مقدمة الكتاب:
" القصة هنا أيها القارئ الكريم ليست مجرد جاهز يستطيع من خلاله أن يحوله السارد بلغته واضحة مفهومة للمتلقي، القصة هنا مبهمة في تفاصيلها قبل الحكي شفاهيا، ". الكاتب عانى وهو يجرب عديد الأساليب في هضم قالبها السردي وصياغته، والحق أنه لن يحتاج لمثل هذا القص.
إن أي قارئ لهذه المجموعة القصصية سيذهب متانة الأسلوب ورقة العبارة، وإتقان فن إيصال المعنى، بل يسحره جمال الديباجة، وتعالق الخاطرة، وبهذا لا يسعنا إلا أن نقول أن رأينا مجرد خواطر تسبح في ضفاف حكايات النقش على الحجر، تسائلها حينا، وتستنطق دلالاتها حينا، حفر أنطولوجي وأنتروبولوجي في هذه اللوحة المنجزة بعناية، المخضبة بألوان الطيف المتعددة..
فنقول في الخير أنه لا يلتئم مثل هذا لقاص خصوصا في بداياته، أن يخلط بين التخيل الانطباعي، والحكمة بأمثلتها المجربة والمتجدرة…".
