يقول الدكتور الدباغ عنه (( اول دراسة من نوعها تناولت بدقة وتفصيل موضوع الانتحار والظروف الاجتماعية والنفسية المحيطة به مع أجلاء تام لمواقف الاديان والفلسفات القديمة والحديثة وعلوم الاجتماع منه وماتستند عليه من حجة او تبرير في اتخاذ هذا الموقف او ذاك .
الكتاب هو رحلة وقف بها المؤلف وقفة طويلة عند الانتحار في البلدان العربية وبيان تدني او زيادة فيها دارسا المسببات والعوامل وآثار الحضارة في كل ذلك .))
