هو عضو مؤسس في مجلس أمناء مؤسسة الدراسات الفلسطينية وكان عضواً في اللجنة الاستشارية للقضايا الاقتصادية في جامعة الدول العربية، وكان في الوقت نفسه، ولفترة طويلة، الأمين العام للاتحاد العام لغرف التجارة والصناعة والزراعة للبلاد العربية.

Book Description
هذا هو الجزء الثالث من سلسلة كتب "الاقتصاد العربي بين الماضي والمستقبل"، ويتناول موضوعي الصناعة وخصوصياتها وما يتعلق بها، والنفط وتشعباته المحلية والخارجية وبعض الشؤون الأخرى.
وتعالج الصناعة في هذه الدراسات، لا كمجرد محرك أساسي للاقتصاد، بل كعملية مستمرة من التطور والتحول الثقافي والعلمي والتقني والاجتماعي. والعلم العربي قادر على تسجيل قفزات نوعية في هذا المجال، بل لا مفر من هذه القفزة. ولديه الوسائل اللازمة لبلوغ هذا الهدف. أما المفط، فإنه مصدر طبيعي غير متجدد يجب المحافظة عليه واستغلاله بشكل رائد، واستخدامه للحصول على كل المنافع الاقتصادية والاجتماعية الممكنة. كما أنه يشكل المادة الأساسية لصناعات حديثة متطورة ومتنوعة من السلع الضرورية والبروتينات.
ويتضمن هذا العدد خمسة فصول، الأول: التعاون الصناعي العربي، مجالاته وأساليبه ومشاكله ويحتوي على ثلاث دراسات. أما الثاني: فيتناول تجارب التصنيع العربية واستراتيجياتها ويحتوي على ثلاث دراسات. أما الفصل الثالث: فإنه يتناول موضوع البترول العربي ويحتوي على أربع دراسات. والفصل الخامس: "الأ؛داث والأهداف" فإنه يتناول سلسلة من المقالات سبق ونشر معظمها في مجلة "الاقتصاد اللبناني والعربي" تحت ذات العنوان، وهي تتناول توضيحاً لأحداث جرت أو مبادرات حصلت مثلما تتعدد اهتماماتا ومضامينها.
