في كتابه القصصي الأحدث، يبرع حسن عبد الموجود في تشييد عالمٍ سردي اختُبرت عناصره بأشد الطرائق الفنية رهافةً وحدّة. نصاً تلو الآخر، ينهض الفرد، وحيداً وأعزل، على أنقاض صورةٍ ثقيلة يتركها الوجود على حائطه. صورة زائفة في الغالب لا سبيل لمقاومتها سوى بصورتها الضد، حيث عالم افتراضي يدفع به الفرد مدعوماً بالسلاح الوحيد الذي يلائم أعزل: السخرية التي تطفو بثقل الواقع نحو خفة حلم اليقظة. بهذه الطريقة فقط، يمكن للطرافة أن تصير وجهاً فنياً للكابوس، وهو ما تجسده النصوص الخمس عشرة التي ينتظمها "السهو والخطأ".
هذه قصص تقتات على أطراف المدينة أو أمكنتها التي تلائم العابرين. الضواحي البعيدة، أماكن العمل الضيقة المقبضة، الشقق المتاحة للغرباء والبارات المنسية هي الأمكنة الأثيرة هنا، حيث العزلة أكيدة، ولا فارق كبير بين بيت وشارع، أو غرفة ومقبرة. ثمة دائماً بطل ترك بطولته في مكان ما، ولم يعد يملك سوى التأكد من أنه ما يزال موجوداً، بتمرين يائس على رفع اليد أو محاولة عبثية لتمييز زوجته بين أختين متطابقتين أو، حتى، بمجرد التأكد من أن جاره شخص حقيقي. في جميع الأحوال ستطل الغرابة برأسها من أشد اللحظات عمومية: هكذا يتقاطع وقوع كلب من شرفة منزلية، مع سقوط سرب سيارات على المارة من فوق "كوبري السيدة"، مثلما يرجّع احتضار شجرة.. صدى صرخة قطيع غربان.
ومجدداً، يبرع صاحب "ساق وحيدة" في استخدام شديد الخصوصية للغة، حيث تجيد اللغة التواصلية، وقد نُزعت عنها تعقيدات البلاغة الفائضة، اختراق السطوح الظاهرية للمشاهد، لتحول فعل السرد إلى فعل استبطان، مدعوم بطاقةٍ إيحائية توظف اللغة السردية أقصى إمكاناتها، كاشفةً في الأخير عن تعقيد الذات الإنسانية وهي تواجه ضجيج العالم بأعمق طرق المقاومة: تحويل الوجود لمشهد لا وجود له إلا في مخيلة صاحبه، وحيث "صورنا في المرآة ليست متطابقة تماماً"
