في هذا الكتاب نستعرض النظرية (المنطلقات الفكرية) للخصخصة ثم نحاول تقديم وجهة نظر أخرى مبنية على تقييم مختلف ورافض للخصخصة يقوم على تفنيد الحجج التي تستند إليها والمشاكل التي تترتب عليها مع إعطاء أمثلة من واقع الكويت، ثم نتوقف عند بعض الدروس والعبر من تجارب الخصخصة في بعض الدول النامية.
وفي النهاية نقدم بدائل عملية لسياسة الخصخصة لا سيما في الكويت.
