من داخل إحدى تلك الزنازين كانت السطور الأولى لهذا الكتاب الذي عمل مؤلفه على إيضاح خريطة الجماعة وبنيتها من الداخل محاولاً الجمع بين أسلوبين وهما الجانب الروائي والتوثيقي والأكاديمي متناولاً بدايات الإنتماء لهذه الجماعة ومروراً بنشاطه فيها طيلة 20 عاماً أمضى معظمها في السجون وإنتهاءً بتلك العوامل التي جعلتهم يمارسون العنف، ثم وأخيراً تاريخ الجماعة من عين أحد قواعدها واحد الذين عاصروا مبادرة وقف العنف، وكان شاهداً على التحولات بكاملها.
