رواية الخائن – بول بيتي رواية اكثر من رائعة فيها الكثير من العبر والمعاني الإنسانية السامية والتى تحض الأنسان انه لا هناك فرق بين الابيض والاسود، فقد كان بطل الرواية يتحدى كل الظروف المقذذة التي اخترعها البشر للتفرقة بين الناس على أساس اللون تتناول قصة حياة بطلها هوميني، وهو أيضًا أميركي أسود٬ إنه يتحدى التفرقة العنصرية بأن يجلس، في الحافلة في الأماكن المخصّصة للبيض، وحين دعت إحدى المعلمات الأولاد السود وحدهم للجلوس في الحافلة، واعترفت بأنهم كانوا في غاية التهذيب والتنصّت إلى شروحها، رأت أن العمل الاجتماعي ينبغي أن يجدّد التمييز العنصري.
