الكتاب يتضمن سلسلة مباحث عامة حول العلاقة بين أصول الدين وفروعها..والغاية منه (المعرفة) و(العمل والاقتداء والتأسي) كما ربط الكتاب بشكل لافت علاقة الامام الحسين (ع) بذلك وخاصة بالصلاة وأثرها في نفس كل مؤمن اقتدى ويقتدي بالحسين (عليه السلام) اذ كان يحث على أدائها حتى قبيل استشهاده(عليه السلام) وليس الامر يقتصر على الصلاة فحسب بل يشمل ذلك ايضا الامر بالمعروف والنهي عن المنكر وسائرالعبادات الاخرى الداخلة ضمن فروع الدين ، حيث يعد كل ذلك من المقومات النفسية والروحية لتهيئة النفوس واعدادها لمواجهة القوى الضالة المستغلة للدين، ولهذا كان الحاح الامام الحسين وسائر الائمة بالتمسك بتلك المقومات ، حيث قارع الامام الحسين وبقية الائمة الطواغيت ورموز الضلال طوال فترة امامتهم بتلك المقومات وبتلك المبادئ من خلال نشرها وتوعية المؤمنين بذلك على الرغم من تضييق و قمع السلطات التي عاصروها (عليهم السلام)..
