وقد حرص المؤلف رحمه الله أن يعطي صورة واضحة عن جميع أنواع التوحيد ولا سيما توحيد الألوهية وما يضاده من الشرك الأكبر والأصغر وقد استهله بعد البسملة بذكر بعض الآيات والأحاديث التي تدل على وجوب إفراد الله بالعبادة وبين في هذا الكتاب توحيد الألوهية وذكر أحكامه وشروطه وفضله وبراهينه وتفاصيله وأسبابه وثمراته ومقتضياته وما يزداد به ويقويه أو يضعفه ويوهيه ومابه يتم ويكمل .
والتوحيد هو الاعتراف يتفرد الرب بصفات الكمال والاقرار بتوحيده بصفات العظمة والجلال وافراده وحده بالعبادة .
