Quran names the idols worshipped in the days of Noah alaihissalam (Wudd, Suwae, Yaghuth, Ya'ooq, Nasr). also planets and idols in the days of Ibrahim, who said, Rabbi innahunna adhlalna katheera (رب انهن اضللن کثيرامن الناس)... among Bani Israel in the days of Elias (Ba'al)(37.125); in the days of Jahiliyyah in Hijaz (Laat, Mannat, Uzzah) (An-Najm)-- also Asaf, Naila, and Hubul. Ibn Al-Kalbi's study is the first of its kind, heralding the anthropological studies, long time before archeological findings confirmed what Quran had proclaimed.
