الآخر مثلي - خوسيه ساراماجوتدور أحداث تلك الرواية حول حياة مدرس تاريخ في إحدى المدراس الثانوية والذي لا تتعدى حياته سوى هذا العمل ، وعلاقة حب بإحدى السيدات ، يتعرض هذا المدرس لما يشبه حالة من الاكتئاب أو الاهتزاز النفسي مما يؤثر عليه بصفة عامة ، فيقوم أحد أصدقائه بطرح فكرة عليه وهى أن يقوم باستئجار عدة أفلام كوميدية للترفية عن نفسه وللخروج من هذا الحالة وقام بإختيار أحد الأفلام له ألا وهو " من يبحث يجد " كان هذا هو عنوان الفيلم ، يقوم الكاتب بالإنطلاق بمخيلته في سرد هذه الرواية من خلال فرضية خيالية يقوم من خلالها برصد الصراع النفسي لشخصيته هذا المدرس ؛ وتحدث المفاجأة بأن يجد المدرس نفسه في لحظة من لحظات هذا الفيلم إذ يعثر على شخصيته ولم يتخيل نفسه في دور الممثل الثانوى بل كان هو بطل هذا الفيلم .
