يفتح الديوان على تمهيد يقرب التيمة العامة، حول عدمية العيش بأرض ثقافية/هوية، في أرض طبيعية ذابلة، وهي إشارة لموضوع أنطلوجيا الإنسان وعلاقته بالأرض التي تسكن وجدانه، وقد أحال فيه على بداية سقوط الأرض الثقافية /الهوية، كإشارة الى عام 1948، ومن ثمة بدأت الأرض تسقط إلى أن كمل سقوطها الهوياتي عام 2018 بعد تعصيم القدس للاسرائيليين، وهو ما يفسره انطلاق الديوان بقصيدة تحت عنوان
"سقوط الأرض الخالدة "
