لا شك أن الإنسان يمر بلحظات ينتابه فيها شعور أنه لا شك مُفارق، ورغم كل الآمال التي لا يَملُّ حملها إلا أن النهاية لا بُدَّ منها، وعلى فراش المرض تزداد لحظات الألم، وتكاد تجف قطرات المُنى.
تشتدُّ الآلام، وتزداد الأمور سوءا، فيحتاط العاقل ويُوثِّق جميع ما لاح في خاطره وجال بفكره، ثم يجود المولى بالشفاء، وتعود الآمال إلى مجراها.
أَشْهُرٌ قضيتها في الفراش أثر مرض السرطان، كنت أكتب وأكتب كثيرا، ومن بين الدرر التي نثرتها هذه الحكم والآداب.
لا أبالغ إن قلت بأن بعض الحكم يستحق مؤلفا خاصا ليسع ذلك المعنى العظيم، ولا أبالغ إن قلت أن منها ما هو كفيل بتغير فكرك ومنهجك.
