وتابع الفقي، أن عنوان "إبليس وشركاه" لم يأت من قبيل الصدفة، فهي من أصل العمل وبنائه، موضحا أن القصة الأولي "الكعكة"، ليست قصة بالمفهوم التقليدي، إنما إسقاط نثري عن الثورة يصور أمريكا كإبليس، وقصة "حوار مع شاذة"، وتتحدث عن شاذة جنسيا تجري حوارا صحفيا مع صحفية تتحدث عن حياتها، بينما قصة "الهروب إلى السماء"، تتحدث عن مسيحي يريد تغيير ديانته للهروب من زوجته، وقصص أخرى.
