ابستيمولوجيا العلم الحديث كتاب الغرض منه فحص منظور التاريخ الإبستمولوجي للعلم ، مع بيان السبل التى أدت إلى سيادة التصور الميكانيكي في القرن السابع عشر ، كنموذج للتفسير سيطر على العقول وقام بفرض معاييره ومقاييسه على البحث العلمي فى تلك الآونة وسوف يكون العمل فى هذا البحث على تأريخ لحياة العلوم ومخاضها ، تأريخاً يتمثل في نشأة التصورات العلمية وتحولها واستمرارها أو اندثارها ، وهذا ما عنيناه بعبارة التأريخ الإبستمولوجي التى تعنى عدم الركن إلى الوصف الإختباري للوقائع العلمية ، بل تأريخ تقدم العلاقات للمعرفة من خلال تأريخ نشأة التصورات والتأويلات التى تتعرض لها من قبل الفلسفة باعتبار أن الفلسفة في جميع عصورها صدى للعلم
