كانت تستشعر وجود شيء ما في حياتها منذ أن دخلت هذا العالم الخفي المظلم، لكنها لم تفكر لحظة بأن يكون هذا الجني زوجها. أشباحه تطاردها في كل مكان، تهرب منه أحياناً ولكنها تكتشف أنها تهرب اليه! يخرج لها من كل مكان يتطفل عليها في كل ساعة، يذكرها بالماضي، بكل ما حدث لها، فسترجع مسيرة حياتها المؤلمة معه.
في هذه الرواية يختلط الواقع بالخيال وبدلاً من ارشادنا الي ختمة نهائية تنفتح الصفحات على سيناريوهات مختلفة. لعبة أتقنها الروائي كفنون صوغ الحكاية، فتناول العلاقة السحرية التي تتوطد في الأدب ما بين الحياة والحب والموت.
