في قريةٍ نائية تتدلّى من كتف الجبل، حيث الأسرار أعمق من الآبار، يعود روح ليحفر في ماضيه؛ طفولةٌ غامضة، وجوهٌ لا تُنسى، وجدّةٌ كانت تعرف من الحياة ما لم يقله أحد.
لكن خلف هدوء الحقول ورائحة الخبز، كانت تختبئ حكاياتٌ أثقل من أن تُروى؛ حبٌّ وُلد في الظل، أحلامٌ خُنقت قبل اكتمالها، وأرواحٌ رحلت تاركةً خلفها أسئلةً بلا أجوبة.
ومن بين تفاصيل الريف اللبناني، يكشف الكاتب وجوهًا أخرى للحياة: قسوة العادات، وجع النساء، وصمتٌ طويل يخفي ما لا يُقال.
