جدر الإشارة إلى أن طلال معلا هو فنان وناقد تشكيلي وشاعر. ولد في سوريا سنة 1952، ودرس الفن في روما. نشر العديد من الكتب في مجلات الشعر والفن وعلم الجمال، منها “عزف منفرد على الطبل”. عمل مطولا في إمارة الشارقة وكان مسؤولا عن بينالي الشارقة للفنون التشكيلية ورأس تحرير مجلة الرافد ثم مجلة صورة، ومن خلال عمله هناك كان مشرفا على الكثير من الندوات والإصدارات منها: “المؤتلف والمختلف – الانفتاح على المرئي في تجربة الإمارات” و“العالم الضال، انحراف الرؤيا في الفنون”، و“أوهام الصورة”، و“المحترف الإماراتي - المكان، الذاكرة، الانتماء”. أقام الكثير من المعارض الفنية المحلية والعالمية.
